How To Grow From Seeds
Growing Amorphophallus from seeds becomes simple when you keep the environment stable and consistent.
Start with a light, well-draining soil mix. Combine coco coir or peat with perlite and a small amount of compost. This creates the right balance between moisture and airflow, which seeds need to develop properly.
Place the seeds on the surface and cover them lightly with soil. Avoid planting them too deep, as shallow placement helps the seedlings emerge more easily.
Keep the temperature warm, ideally between 25–30°C. Warmth plays a key role in triggering germination and supporting steady growth from the beginning.
Water gently and keep the soil slightly moist at all times. Do not let it dry out, but also avoid excess water, as overly wet conditions can cause the seeds to rot.
Provide bright, indirect light. Direct sunlight can overheat the soil and damage young growth, so a shaded and stable environment works best.
After a few weeks, the seeds begin to sprout. A small shoot appears first, followed by the formation of a tiny tuber beneath the soil. This tuber becomes the foundation of the plant’s future growth.
As the seedling develops, continue to keep conditions stable. Water consistently and introduce light feeding once the plant shows steady growth. Over time, the tuber grows larger and stronger, leading to more impressive growth in each cycle.
Growing from seeds allows you to experience the full journey, from the earliest stage to a mature and striking plant.
